How do I find prospects using complementary Shopify apps?
Choose an app that works alongside your product. In Shoplist Brands, expand Apps Used in the Refine sidebar and select that app. Inspect matching brands to confirm the merchant workflow, save the qualified accounts to a list and write the specific value your product adds. The strongest segment connects observed stack context to an integration or use case you can show.

Choose the app that makes your offer stronger.
Pick a complementary app with a specific connection to your product. A loyalty app with a subscription integration has a clearer prospecting segment than a loyalty app targeting every Shopify store.
Write the joint workflow before searching: “Brands running subscriptions can use our loyalty integration to reward repeat subscribers.” Use only integrations and behavior your product already supports. Bring one merchant-fit criterion and a working example of the integration.
Find the stack. Qualify the opportunity.
The complementary app is your starting clue. The merchant’s business model and the value of the joint workflow decide which accounts belong in the final list.
Search for the complementary app.
In Brands, open the Refine sidebar, expand Apps Used and select the complementary app. Review the matching brands as the starting set for this integration motion.
Inspect the merchant’s fit.
Open a matching brand, choose its Apps tab and visit the storefront. Check the product category and buying experience against the workflow you plan to demonstrate.
Build a focused list.
Select qualified brand rows and choose Add to List. Pick an existing list or select Create New List, enter a title and description, then choose Create List. Use a name that captures the integration and merchant use case.
Prepare the added-value demonstration.
Record what the complementary app handles today and what your app adds. Link the relevant integration guide or product demonstration in the account brief.
Give the integration a commercial purpose.
A prospecting row should tell the team what to show. Keep the integration connection explicit so outreach and demos speak to the same merchant workflow.
| Research field | Example entry |

| Discovery question | How do you reward subscribers after repeat deliveries? |
Reuse the integration-fit worksheet.
Create one version for each supported integration motion. Review the segment when your integration changes or your team finds a stronger merchant use case.

Frequently asked questions
Does app usage prove the merchant uses every feature of that app?
App usage gives you stack context. Inspect the storefront and ask about the workflow you care about. Tie the demonstration to the merchant’s answer rather than assuming which features they use.
Which complementary app should I start with?
Start with the app that makes your product’s value easiest to demonstrate. Build one segment for that integration, then inspect the full app stack on each brand’s Apps tab to check any additional requirements.
How is this different from a competitor list?
The sales motion is the added value your app brings to the current stack. A competitor list needs a reason to switch. A complementary-app list needs a useful joint workflow and a clear integration demonstration.
