About Unlock Options

Unlock Color, Size, and other product options that became locked after linking to a metafield.

When you connect a product option like Color, Size, or Material to a Shopify standard metafield (e.g., `shopify.color-pattern`), the option becomes locked in your admin. You can no longer rename values, add new colors, or delete the option from the Shopify UI. The only way to undo this is via the GraphQL Admin API — which means creating a custom app, getting an access token, and running mutations from a terminal. For most merchants, this is a multi-hour ordeal.

Listing highlights

  • One-click unlock for any locked product option
  • Confirmation modal explicitly lists what will and won't change before unlock
  • Variants, SKUs, prices, and inventory are preserved
  • Lists every locked product in your store automatically — no manual search
  • Works with standard metafields and custom metafield-linked options

Methodology

How to read these signals

Counts are based on Shoplist's latest available public crawl signal dated May 28, 2026.

Shoplist has not yet found reliable public storefront evidence connecting a Shopify store to this app. This does not mean the app has no users. Some apps are new, admin-only, server-side, theme-independent, or otherwise difficult to detect from public storefront signals.

Merchant rows are filtered to public brand profiles with enough public data to link safely. Full workflow, filtering, and monitoring stay behind signup.

Review, pricing, feature, screenshot, and listing-change data come from public Shopify App Store and Shoplist crawl records. Signals can change between crawls.
