There are a variety of reasons you might want to hide products from the public e.g, they are for internal use only or part of customer collections if you provide trade functionality on your B2C store, or you need extra products for a custom functionality like GWP, discounted or bundle items. As you see there are quite a few cases when you want to make specific elements unavailable to the public.
