A warranty claim, a supplier recall or a lot about to expire: you need to know which unit or batch went to which order. The app records serial numbers such as IMEI or device IDs, and lot or batch numbers with expiry dates. Assign them from the order page, by phone, or at the Shopify POS till, where a serial can even be recorded as you sell, with no goods-in step. A serial is assigned only once, cancelled orders release their numbers, and a later or expired lot gives a warning (FEFO).
