About Invoice Hold

Holds inventory when you send a draft invoice. Units stay reserved until payment or expiry.

Shopify does not hold inventory when you send a draft invoice, so those units can still sell on the storefront. Invoice Hold reserves the line items when the invoice is sent and sets an expiry. If the customer completes the draft, Shopify turns it into an order. If it expires first, stock returns to the storefront. You still create drafts in Shopify Admin. Invoice Hold only holds promised units so they cannot sell twice. Use it for quotes, wholesale invoices, and net terms.

Listing highlights

  • Reserves inventory when you send a draft invoice, not on every test draft.
  • Set a default expiry, then change the date and time on any hold.
  • See draft name, quantity, time left, and Held, Paid, Expired, or Error.
  • Release a hold early. Unpaid stock returns to the storefront at expiry.
  • Turn auto-hold on or off. Default duration is 24, 72, or 168 hours.

How Shoplist knows

Every number on this page comes from public storefront scans and the public Shopify App Store listing. If Shoplist shows Invoice Hold on a store, it is there.

Read the data methodology
  • Counts are based on the latest public Shoplist crawl signals available for this app.
  • Shoplist has not yet found reliable public storefront evidence connecting a Shopify store to this app. This does not mean the app has no users. Some apps are new, admin-only, server-side, theme-independent, or otherwise difficult to detect from public storefront signals.
  • Merchant rows are filtered to public brand profiles with enough public data to link safely. Full workflow, filtering, and monitoring stay behind signup.
  • Review, pricing, feature, screenshot, and listing-change data come from public Shopify App Store and Shoplist crawl records. Signals can change between crawls.
