How it sells itself

Selling electronics, tools or equipment means customers ask about warranties, returns and recalls by serial number. Serialwise records the serial of every unit: scan or type it when you pack the order, or fill it from serials received into stock. Each serial is saved on the Shopify order, ready for packing slips. Search any serial to see its order, sale date and warranty end.

Raise a purchase order against a supplier, send it, then receive the stock by scanning barcodes as it arrives. Partial deliveries are fine — the order stays open until the rest lands. Every receipt writes to inventory at the location you chose. Then print shelf labels straight off that order: barcode, name, and the price if you want it, on sheets or a roll printer.

Key points
  • Scan, type or fill a serial for every unit when you pack an order
  • Serials saved on the Shopify order and printable on packing slips
  • Serial lookup with order, sale date and warranty end date
  • Receive serials into stock; new deliveries update Shopify stock
  • Raise purchase orders against suppliers and track what is still on the way
  • Receive stock by scanning barcodes, or by typing SKUs when you have no scanner
  • Print barcode shelf labels straight off a received order, on sheets or a roll
  • Receipts write to available inventory at the location you choose
