How it sells itself

Serial Trail gives every physical unit a durable serial record. Create or import serial numbers, assign them at fulfillment, scan lifecycle changes, and reconcile the registry against orders and stock. When a product issue appears, define the affected population by serial range, pool, serial list, or product and sold-date window, then preview the exact affected units before you activate.

TrackJoy links each sold device to its manufacturer serial or IMEI. Choose products that need tracking, then scan or type one serial per unit. TrackJoy checks required fields and duplicates before saving. Search a serial to find the order, line item, and sale date. Review completion on the dashboard and export the audit trail as CSV for returns and warranty enquiries.

Key points
  • Create, import, or auto-generate serial numbers and assign them at fulfillment.
  • Recall by serial range, pool, serial list, or product and sold-date window.
  • Validate warranty claims against a real serial, with duplicate and fraud flags.
  • Public serial lookup and QR unit passports, with no buyer or order data exposed.
  • Mark products for tracking, then scan or type one serial per unit.
  • Catch missing or duplicate serials before saving.
  • Find any sold unit by serial and export the audit history as CSV.

FAQ

Serial Trail and TrackJoy: common questions

Is Serial Trail or TrackJoy cheaper?
Both list a free plan. Paid plans start at $19/month for Serial Trail and $29/month for TrackJoy. Shoplist compares base prices only between monthly plans in the same currency; usage charges and annual plans vary, so check each plan’s limits.
Where does this comparison’s data come from?
Shoplist crawls Shopify storefronts to detect which apps each store runs, and reads each app’s Shopify App Store listing for reviews, pricing, features and integrations. Store counts are as of Oct 13, 2026; estimated figures are labeled.

How Shoplist compares apps

Store counts come from Shoplist’s crawl of Shopify storefronts, which detects the apps each store runs; they are as of Oct 13, 2026. Reviews, ratings, plans, features and integrations come from each app’s Shopify App Store listing. 28-day figures are labeled when estimated, and a figure that is missing or estimated never decides who leads.
