How it sells itself

When an order ships from more than one location, Shopify adds each location's app and carrier rates together, so a split cart can be charged shipping twice. Mergerate is a carrier service: it charges your own rates on one shipment and returns the same options at $0 on the others, with a label you choose. Set flat prices, countries and delivery estimates; it works best with flat rates.

Bundle apps often split a kit into its component items, and each item is rated as a small separate parcel. The customer pays a low rate while you pay to ship the whole box. OneKit Shipping adds a checkout rate that charges the one shipping price you set for each kit, without charging again for the items inside it. Other items in the cart are priced together by weight tiers you set.

Key points
  • Split-cart rate requests answered as one shipping charge per order
  • Your own flat rates, by country, with delivery estimates
  • The same options at $0 on the other shipments, labelled
  • Delivery estimates and your own label on the $0 shipments
  • Set one fixed shipping price for each kit or bundle product variant
  • Items inside a kit are not charged shipping a second time
  • Other cart items are priced together using weight tiers you set
  • Optional: show only the kit rate when a kit is in the cart
