The short answer
Head to head
Coverage counts what each App Store listing names. Every feature, checked off app by app, is in Shoplist.
See every featureShopify keeps one cost per item and no history. Cogsy keeps each variant's unit cost by supplier and date, adds the costs Shopify has no field for (packaging, freight, duties, fees), and works out a bundle's cost from its parts. See total cost and margin per variant, find the ones with no cost or a low margin, import costs by CSV, and write the figure you choose back to Shopify's cost per item.
The Finance Lead Cost Check reads the selling amount and the recorded cost per item of each variant in your store. It flags variants that sell below cost, variants where both are equal and variants without a recorded cost. Results show the exact numbers in your store currency. The scan compares these two fields only and does not calculate full margins, so shipping, fees, taxes and discounts are not included.
- Unit costs by supplier and date, with a full history and nothing overwritten
- Added costs per unit or as a percent of price: packaging, freight, fees
- Bundle costs worked out from the parts, and updated when a part's cost moves
- Flag variants selling below or at their unit cost
- List variants with no recorded cost per item
- Search, filter and export findings as CSV
