We decided to try Bold Subscriptions because of the ease of installation and the nice documentation. Indeed, the setup was very quick and straightforward. Creating subscription groups was a true breeze. Unfortunately, their new version of Bold Subscriptions is only in english and is incompatible with translation apps (confirmed by Bold support). This makes the app unusable for a shop that is not in english. Perhaps I will reconsider when they do implement functionality for other languages! If you only need english, this is the app for you, it is very solid.

I really like this app, it works well, and support is fast and helpful. It is currently the only app in Shopify that can automatically charge the customer without bothering the customer. However, one feature I really need is to make it so the first subscription purchase is full price, and every purchase after that is discounted. Some customers buy the product once and unsubscribe and get the discount without 'actually subscribing'. This app is also so expensive every month plus Shopify's fees which makes me starting off this business hard and taking most my profit :( So this might be good for bigger businesses, not start-ups.

signed up 132 subscribers week 1. week 2 as they are all to be billed the 2nd time, only 2 get a bill. the other 130 are gone. no record of them at Bold at all. total joke. customer service say 3-5 days to get back. there is no phone number to call. finally get someone on chat, who tells me the developers dont have time to talk to the customers and someone will work on it sometime soon. total joke. been working on this for 7 hours and still no answers as to why all of my subscribers disappeared at midnight on their app.. bigger joke is that Shopify's response is that it's not their problem, contact the app im using. oh, you mean the one im using based on your recommendation? found on your website? it's time for internet companies to be accountable!

This app makes it easy to bring a subscription based business model to the marketplace. I wasn't completely understanding how to set up my subscription groups. I requested some chat assistance from the support team and Nir was with me quickly and helped me get everything worked out. In fact, I now call him "Magic Touch Nir" because his help was so clear and effective in helping me get the product working correctly on my shop. Really disappointed that BOLD created a new version of their app but just left us in the dust... they said months ago that migration was coming soon but they have done nothing and say its still not available for us. So for us to switch to the new version we would have to install the new version and manually migrate all of our customers and subscriptions ourselves. I don't think BOLD values their customers.
