I've been using this app to sell art prints and have been really enjoying it. The decentralized production model is something that I really love both from a cost/time savings standpoint but also it is so much better for the environment. The paper prints have always been fantastic, but I have had quite a few hiccups with metal prints along the way (my first order was a metal print and they sent me someone else's piece, the replacement had holes cut in it for acrylic prints. And a third order more recently had no mounts included). Each one was fully refunded and replaced very quickly, and my customers have so far had no problems like this whatsoever after a year of selling on here. TLDR: The idea behind this app is fantastic, the products are great, there may be a few hiccups but so far it has definitely been worthwhile.

** Update ** - I'm leaving my original comment, but the folks at Gelato called me to chat about this problem and fixed it! They just released an update so digital products are ignored in their system automatically so if you have a customer who buys physical and digital in the same order, they can get the digital stuff right away. This was AMAZING to see. Every company needs product people like this so I've changed my 1 star to a 5 star. **original comment** - Pay extra attention if you have digital and physical products with multiple variants. This integration is confusing to work with and clunky. Example: someone ordered digital and physical products in the same order and Gelato won't fulfil it until the digital products exist in their store but are 'ignored'. I think I'm going to move everything to Red Bubble. The integration of variants is confusing as well. You need to create the product in Gelato, then create a variant in Shopify, then go back to Gelato and create the variant product when Gelato detects it doesn't exist. I'd look elsewhere if you are looking at drop shipping. Product selection isn't great either, I only used this because it was integrated with Shopify and thought it would be easy.

UPDATE: I had a chat with customer service and the problem was solved. It was a glitch, a pretty annoying one but just a glitch! Everything else has been going well since and customer service was extremely nice. So far so good :) This app is so problematic! It went into some of my shopify settings and changed them, for example it changed the fulfillment of some random products of MINE to gelato for no reason, causing people to not be able to purchase them from my store anymore and making me lose sales! HOW RANDOM IS THAT?? Not to mention how hard it is to ignore products on the platform. Jeez. Can't wait for calendar season to be over so I can erase it and never use it again.

I was working for 4 hours on a calendar, page crashed, all work was gone. Nothing was saved on this app, not even early stages development of this calendar, all my work for nothing. Does it mean that you need to work on everything and only during one session, then publish it on your store in order to view and edit it again??? Or maybe, i did not reach that point... any clarification about that? I did not dare creating any other product after this.

Gelato can be good, but it can also be very bad. I was having a great experience for the first week, then Gelato started cancelling orders without notice (Customer pays, Gelato prints, Gelato Cancels without reason). Shipping time takes about 14 days for most of our orders, unwarranted cancellations have spontaneously shown up, and the live chat support has been useless as well. I do not recommend this app, use printful or a more reputable company.

I have worked with a few of the biggest POD apps for years and then I stumbled across Gelato. I have been working with them for a few months now and i would have to say they are great. they are willing to help you solve all issues you may have, they helped improved my systems and saved me a ridiculous amount of money. if you are running a pod store definitely download this app

EDIT: I must update my original review. I received a call today from Alyssa from Gelato. She was very friendly and attentive to the issues I brought up. We spent a good amount of time on the phone. It never felt like she was just trying to get me to change this review. I felt as though she cared about the issues and wanted as much detail as possible. while I am still frustrated about the experience detailed below. I do believe that the company cares about us. I've never had a company reach out to me to resolve things before. It really was a pleasant experience. I said it in my original review and I'll say it again the products I have received are absolutely beautiful. After the chat I had with Alyssa I can honestly say I would recommend Gelato. They boast 72 hour delivery times. My first order took a week to be printed. and still hasn't arrived after 17 days. Nothing has arrived in 72 hours. it's impossible to get customer service to answer. If they do answer you won't get a follow-up answer after the first answer clearly doesn't even attempt to answer your question. I gave it 2 stars because if you're lucky enough to receive an order the products are very nice. but beware you'll probably have angry customers looking for their orders and you won't get any answers to give to them.

I tried a few print-on-demand platforms and decided to stick with Gelato for my poster store. The website is easy to use and their support team is the best. The app integrates smoothly with Shopify. Good quality and fast delivery. And their transparency in prices and shipping rates really help me in setting up the pricing

Had this app for about 5 mins. Contacted chat to ask a very very simple question of which i was told they can not disclose this information. My question was Where is Australia are you located or what city are you shipping from? Pretty straight forward question! I wouldn't trust 'Gelato' as they seem very secretive and not helpful at all. Would hate to know if you were trying to track an order or something alike, the probably wouldn't 'disclose' the information. I'll take my business elsewhere and better yet keep on printing myself.

App claims to do 3 day shipping but in reality fulfillment in Canada takes a week and often item doesn't arrive for 1.5 to 2 weeks. Editing products if you make a mistake is difficult, have to start over from scratch and cannot delete the incorrect item just have to select "ignore" which means you then have duplicates of the item visible in Gelato. Customer service only by email now (Previously would have live chat). No phone numbers if you run into an issue takes them an day to email you back. Had to pull tote bags from my store because quality was so bad. I Don't recommend this app.

I used this app to start my POD journey. The order fulfill time is very impressive. I got two orders one for Gelato and other for Printify. Gelato is already shipped while Printify is still in process. Easy to use app and mockups are good. Integration and UI of the app and the platform is also very user-friendly. I am planning to use this instead of other POD apps.

The inventory and fulfillment system could use some improvement. There were lots of issues with delay due to restocking and inaccurate syncing of inventory shown on platform vs. actual inventory in-house. It seems like there are also communication issues with the print stations, it often takes days, sometimes took more than a week just to track down the status of an order. Customer service has also been very unreliable as 50% of the time will not follow through with action even if they made the promise in the chat/over email. I literally have to follow up on a daily basis to get the update I need.

I always believe a business should be judged on how it handles and resolves problems and not just on it's products. A company that is willing to go the extra mile, adapt and be willing to admit to a customer that it needs time to resolve an issue, is in my books a company that I will gladly do business with. I had a technical issue with one of Gelatos services and one that could have potentially hurt my business. The Gelato support team were fantastic in recognising this, acting immediately and going as far as to contact me on a weekend to discuss how they were fixing the problem and what they were willing to do to not only help me but ensure my business's reputation was not negatively affected. From the agents on the live chat right up to the senior management that contacted me, I am extremely grateful for the exceptional level of professionalism you showed me and also impressed with how you went about handling this technical fault. I can with confidence, and certainly will, recommend Gelato to anyone looking for a printing business. I will also add this, that should somehow you reach a problem or find a fault, contact customer support and know that they are literally doing their best to rectify it for you. Thanks once again.

Working with Gelato has been great so far and I can't recommend them enough. I have been with them for over 5 months now. Product delivery is very fast compared to other POD providers I tried in the past and pricing is very reasonable as well. If there is any issue, the customer service team is always there to help via chat with usually just one minute waiting time. Gelato has gone above and beyond to help us grow and expand our store which included free video calls with their talented team. This personal approach is something that really makes them stand out.
