# Brand Discovery — Find Shopify Brands by App Stack

Search and filter Shopify brands by the apps they run, category, and ecosystem signals. Qualify accounts with stack context and turn segments into lists and exports.

## Workflow
### Start from the stack

Filter the brand directory by detected apps — your competitors, complementary tools, or whole categories — alongside brand category and other signals. The stack is the qualification.

### Qualify with context

Open a brand profile to see its detected app stack, the categories it is not yet running, and when Sonar last checked the storefront, instead of stitching together the storefront, app pages, and a spreadsheet.

### Turn segments into action

Save qualified brands to a list with your reasoning attached, export the segment to CSV, or follow the accounts so stack changes reach your feed.

### App-stack filters

The core move: brands filtered by the apps they actually run — competitor installs, complementary stacks, or category combinations.

### Brand profiles

Detected app stack, category, and ecosystem context per brand — the account research page your reps were building by hand.

### Four connected directories

Brands, apps, developers, and experts cross-link into one graph, so an app leads to its merchants and a merchant leads to its stack.

### Faceted search

Combine filters across category, rating, status, and store-movement signals to carve precise segments instead of broad lists.

### CSV export

Export the current page, a selection, the filtered results, or all matches as a background job. Export sizes scale with plan.

### Lists, follows, and alerts

Discovery is the front door: a segment becomes a saved list, a set of follows, and alerts without leaving the table.

## Frequently asked questions
### How does Shoplist know which apps a brand uses?

App usage is detected from public signals on merchant storefronts and ecosystem data. When Shoplist shows an app on a store, it’s there: a confirmed install observed on the storefront, not a guess. Coverage is comprehensive and grows every day as we track more stores and apps.

### Can I search for brands using a specific competitor?

Yes — that is the flagship workflow. Select a competitor in the brand directory’s Apps Used filter, inspect each shortlisted brand’s stack for your own app, then save or export the accounts you qualify.

### Does Shoplist include contact data?

The core value is account selection and Shopify-specific context. Social, people, and contact data are included where available on Pro and Business plans, and Shoplist pairs cleanly with dedicated contact databases when you want deeper enrichment.

### How big are exports?

Export limits scale with plan tier, from small research pulls on the free plan to large segment exports on business plans. Current limits are listed on the pricing page.

### Is this just a static lead list?

No. Segments stay connected to the live catalog: follow the brands in a list and stack changes, app installs, and other detected movement flow into your activity feed.
